Getting Started
Step 1 – Needs & Wants
The first step in our process is meeting and getting as
much information as possible. We like to call them the needs
and wants list. At this point we ask for any pictures, plans,
or sketches you may have and try to get a feel for the way
you live. For most people there are non-negotiable items
like a big screen TV or large dining room. We note every
detail and then move on to Step 2.
Step 2 – Planning &
Pricing
The second step is proposing a rough sketch plan and price,
and detailed construction specification. Now is the time
to discuss areas of cost savings and improvements. It is
not unusual to rework the design a couple of times to get
where the budget needs to be. Then it’s on to Step
3.
Step 3 – Contracts &
Financing
The third step is to sign a contract with Pinehurst and
get financing in place. Once financing is in place and all
conditions are met, we provide a set of construction drawings
of your home and a plot plant. Then it’s time to get
rolling.
Step 4 – Finishes &
Colors
Now is when we recommend providers for cabinets, flooring,
plumbing fixtures, lighting, decking, specialty wiring,
and more. During this time we are in contact regularly to
ensure appropriate decisions are being made to keep the
home on schedule and budget, and that all components will
work together.
Step 5 – Pre-Closing
& Closing
The fifth step is the pre closing and closing. We do a pre-closing
inspection to address any minor deficiencies and provide
documents like location certificates, a new home warranty,
new construction rebate forms, and other relevant documents.
